Moral fibre

There was one question which was bugging my mind. What is moral fibre? Is it a ready to die attitude towards beloved one (as in "the girl next door") or else doing something on which we have a strong believe? The later stresses on tenacity of a person. Be it in one's profession, or a personal relation.

If we consider first one it could mean ready to do anything for your beloved one or someone whom you care most without expecting any return.

I believe that later one makes more sense. Doing something on which we have strong belief. Where we do not expect any return but do it as a duty. In our life most of the time for "every" deed we expect some return in our favor. Of course that is true. But there are some occasions in life where we do it without expecting any return. This trait is because of some enigmatic reason. The return will be joy that emanate within us and boost our moral further and make us to act further towards our belief. This belief could be sole purpose of our life, goal of our life or even it could be a personality.
